A Scam?

I did a little internet research and found out the the whole photography contest thing that I talked about in the last post was a marketing scam. I guess people really don't like me... :(

Ha. Well it was fun for a minute.

I still like that picture though. And I'm still buying a 40D. That DOES make me happy.

Hurray for scammers and suckers like me! At least I didn't give them any money!!!

People like me?

So one day I was just geeking out on my computer like usual, when I came across this ad for a photo competition. I thought that it sounded neat, so I entered one of my all time fav's. It's a picture I took of my friend Patrice up Provo Canyon.

I sent off the entry and forgot all about it.

Today I got a letter from the International Library of Photography telling me that my photo had been chosen t0 be a finalist in their national competition and that they would also like to use the photo in their annual publication of photography that will be available in bookstores nationwide.
The book will be called Endless Journeys (that's the working title anyway), and will be archived under "Library of Congress ISBN-0-7951-5247-7"

Weird. I guess people like me and my work some.
That's neat.

P.S. Canon just came out with the 40D, and I'm buying it.

The Sims.

I had an awesome opportunity to photograph a beautiful civil ceremony in Ephraim, Utah on Saturday. My close friends and co-workers Jeremy and Lauren got married. They are both so awesome, and I'm super happy for them. It was one of the best ceremonies I've seen.

If you've never been to Ephraim, you should go. It's right next to Manti, and it's a crazy party college town. They have both a McDonalds AND a Subway! No seriously, it's crazy there.

Here's a couple few pictures.

I had a ton of fun shooting with this couple, and I'm really happy about the pictures. What do you think?

Photoblog

HEAR! HEAR!
This just in from the fingers of the legendary Daniel Wilson, sole proprietor of Daniel Wilson Creative!

"Ahem..."
"I have started a photoblog to document my latest happenings as a photographer,"said Daniel Wilson. "If you have any interest whatsoever of the pictures I take, well then, subscribe to my photoblog and ye shall see my work as it unfolds and develops!"
The crowd erupted into a chorus of cheers at the break of this good news. More than one conversation in the crowd went as follows:
"He's quite amazing, that Daniel," said one man to another. The other's response? "Yes, quite amazing indeed!"
Daniel went on to say, "You can find the link below, or in the list of links at the top right of the page. Thank you, my loyal citizens, for your interest and cooperation!"

Women Swooned, men applauded. Everyone was quite jovial indeed.

Okay sorry about that. I get carried away sometimes. But seriously, here's the link.
